A comprehensive education, particularly for undergraduate students, requires learning beyond the classroom. Your support creates better access to internships, study-abroad programs, and field experience opportunities that embody a holistic campus experience fostered by student involvement beyond “9- to-5” hours.
Learning Abroad
While some students find that a semester-long study abroad experience can offer new cultural insights, and raise questions they’d never thought to ask, other students are profoundly transformed by participating in shorter-term Alternative Break programs, which are service learning trips to Haiti, Guatemala, and Chile during winter and spring break periods.
Student Leadership Opportunities
Students also enjoy opportunity for growth and engagement at more than 120 student-run clubs and organizations, including the Student Government Association, the campus newspaper (The Outlook), the FM radio station (WMCX), the television station (Hawk TV), the online news portal (The Verge), and the arts and literature magazine (Monmouth Review).
Carefully supervised experience with nationally affiliated sororities and fraternities also provide character-building hands-on experience that often lead to internships and employment opportunities.
Diverse Community
Beyond the stereotypes, our diverse population includes active groups for students in recovery, military veterans, transfer students, LBGTQ community, without creating silos of separation.
Generous financial support transforms ideas into action with safe and comfortable meeting spaces for all of our students.
