Technology on Move-In Day

Fall 2024

Login Information

  • Your username is your seven-digit student ID number preceded by an “s” (e.g., s0123456@monmouth.edu).
  • This username is your network login and will allow you to connect to myMU (my.monmouth.edu), the University’s portal, where you can access your student email, enrollment and financial information, course information, and eCampus (Login Required for all the above).
  • To activate your MU login or reset your password for all University systems, call the automated password reset system at 732-923-4600 and enter your student ID number and the requested information as specified.

Connecting a Wireless Device (No Game Consoles, Smart TVs and Speakers)

  • The wireless network on campus, MU-Secure, utilizes WPA2-Enterprise encryption. Your device MUST support this encryption type in order to connect!
  • While most devices will support this, game consoles and smart televisions, and speakers/assistants (e.g., Amazon Echo, Apple Home Pod, Google Nest, etc.) do not. (See “Connecting a Wired Device“)
  • Important: Any device that interferes with the campus network will be disabled. This includes wireless routers.

Connecting a Wired Device (Game Consoles, Smart TVs)

  • Many devices using Wi-Fi will not connect to our network unless it supports WPA2-Enterprise. You will need a network/Ethernet cable (available for purchase at the Monmouth University Store) to connect your computer to the network port in your room (blue wall connector; red is for telephone).
  • Game Console, Blu-ray Player, Xbox, Playstation etc.

Personal Printers

  • Connect directly to your computer via a USB cable, as network printing is not supported.
  • If it is wireless, the Wi-Fi feature must be disabled to prevent interference with the wireless network.

Login and Update your Emergency Notification Settings

  • Update your contact setting(s) for notification of weather closures and emergency information.
  • The Emergency Notification System is located online at notify.monmouth.edu (Login Required).
  • You can elect to receive notifications by email, text, and/or telephone.
