Approximately 94 international students from 27 countries are represented at Monmouth University. Special orientation sessions are conducted each semester to assist new international students. The Office of International Student Services also assists international students with all matters of special concern including: immigration, visas, practical training, change of status, advising, counseling, housing, homesickness, culture shock, obtaining a driver’s license and social security card, on-campus employment, and informs students of their rights and responsibilities. The office works with other administrative offices and academic departments on campus to ensure a smooth adjustment and transition for students.
The Office of International Student Services is a proud member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, which provides updates to this office with any and all changes in immigration regulations concerning international students studying in the United States.
In the past, this office (in conjunction with the International Club) has sponsored several trips during the school year. Day trips have included visiting the Statue of Liberty and Six Flags Great Adventure.
During the spring semester this office hosts the International Festival on campus and also publishes The International Newsletter biannually, and students are encouraged to contribute to the newsletter.
