All Day | Anacon Hall | Virtual Poster Expo

School of Humanities and Social Sciences – Criminal Justice Student Poster Expo

12 p.m. | Anacon A

Students in CJ/HLS Senior Seminar will be presenting their semester projects that require the analysis of a contemporary policy, program, or policy within the Criminal Justice or Homeland Security fields. Students will present their work on posters to trace the underlying problem that led to their selected policy, describe the history of their policy, and then make recommendations for the future of the policy based on the relevant literature in order to make the policy more effective.

School of Nursing and Health Studies – 3-Minute Thesis Competition

5 p.m. – 7 p.m. | Anacon A

This annual competition is held in more than 200 universities worldwide. It is open to undergraduate and graduate students within the SOHNS, and challenges participants to present their research in just 180 seconds, in an engaging way that can be understood by a diverse audience with no background in the research area. This exercise develops presentation, research and academic communication skills and supports the development of research students’ capacity to explain their work effectively. Originally founded by the University of Queensland in 2008, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition that will further showcase our School’s ability to cultivate students’ presentation and communication skills.
