Richard Veit, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs and professor in the Department of History and Anthropology, will present recent archaeological findings at the Monmouth County Library, Eastern Branch, on Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. Guests must register in advance to guarantee seating.
In this exploration into the past, Veit will unveil findings from Monmouth University’s 2023 archaeological investigations at the Twin Lights State Historical Site, sharing secrets that have been hidden for centuries.
Veit currently serves on the New Jersey Historical Commission and on the boards of the Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology, Crossroads of the American Revolution, Preservation New Jersey, and the Archaeological Society of New Jersey. He is the president of the Society for Historical Archaeology. His work research has been featured on NPR, in Archaeology Magazine, and at TEDx Navesink in 2014.
