Saliba Sarsar, Ph.D., professor of political science, participated in a panel discussion, “Keeping the Door Open to Israeli-Palestinian Peace,” at Michigan State University on Oct. 6. He presented 10 basic principles as key ingredients to peacemaking that can create common ground for moving toward peace. He implored Israelis and Palestinians to realize that they are neighbors forever, and the sooner they grasp this fact, the quicker they can work through their differences.
Sarsar stated, “Crossing the border, physically and psychologically, is possible. Getting to ‘yes’ is possible. The time is now. The doors and windows to Israeli-Palestinian peace must remain open!”
