Mihaela Moscaliuc, associate professor of English and director of the English graduate program, is the recipient of a 2023 Individual Artist Fellowship for Poetry from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. The fellowship was awarded “in recognition of the outstanding work” and to enable Moscaliuc “to further [her] artistic goals.” Moscaliuc’s most recent publications are poems in the current issue of “The Gettysburg Review” and “North American Review.” Poems are forthcoming in “Arkansas International,” “Alaska Quarterly Review,” and “Plant-Human Quarterly,” and her creative nonfiction on abortion under the Ceausescu dictatorship (Romania) will appear in the spring ’23 issue of “Ploughshares.” A recent financial gift to the English Department’s Creative Writing program has been made in recognition of Moscaliuc’s passion for teaching poetry and to support her efforts to build upon the current program.
