Golam Mathbor, Ph.D., professor in the School of Social Work, presented as a keynote speaker at the NRB (Non-Resident Bangladeshis) Professionals’ Summit 2022 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, last December.
His presentation, “Shifting from Sending Remittances to Knowledge and Technology Transfer: Role of Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs),” focused on building the higher education sector in Bangladesh through knowledge, partnership, and technology.
Mathbor stated in his address, “Both NRBs and Bangladeshi diaspora communities are prospering in many developed countries in the educational sector and professional fields, and their involvement and collaboration can significantly strengthen the higher education sector in Bangladesh.”
The event was sponsored by the Government of Bangladesh and featured an overall theme of “Investing in Sustainable Development.”
