Dr. David M. Tripold, associate professor of music and the director of choral activities in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts at Monmouth University, has been selected to be the conductor of the 2015 All Shore Chorus.
The 52-year-old organization will hold its annual concert at Red Bank Regional High School in Red Bank, N.J. on Saturday, February 7, at 7:30 p.m. The 120-voice chorus features some of the finest high school choral singers in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
Tripold, a former member of the All Shore Chorus while in high school, is honored to have been asked by the consortium of area high school choral directors to direct this year’s concert. Tripold’s wife, Maggie, accompanist for Monmouth University choir and director of music and worship arts at the Colts Neck Reformed Church, will be the concert accompanist. Marc Muller, adjunct professor in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts, will be a featured guitarist at the concert.
Tripold received his doctorate in liturgical studies from Drew University and a master’s degree in music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. He is a nationally recognized choir conductor, voice teacher, organist, and liturgical scholar. He directs the University’s chamber and concert choirs. In addition, he has been a church organist and choir director for more than 30 years.
