Vice Admiral Gaffney also serves as a member of the Steering Committee of the Joint Ocean Commission, is an active Member of the National Academy of Engineering, and recently co-chaired the decadal review of the US Ocean Exploration program. Activities under this appointment will include but not be limited to
· provide strategic advice to the UCI Director, Tony MacDonald;
