In honor of the fifth anniversary of the passage of the marriage equality bill in New Jersey, a public screening and discussion of the award-winning documentary “Love Wins” will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 9 in Pozycki Hall at Monmouth University from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Following the screening, filmmaker Robin Kampf, “Love Wins” co-stars Jan Moore and Emily Sonnessa, and Aaron Potenza from the advocacy organization Garden State Equality will participate in a 30-minute panel discussion.
The film, which will be introduced by Kampf, tells the story of Moore and Sonessa, two women who fell in love and raised a family together but were not able to get married until they were in their 80s.
This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the School of Social Work, the Department of Psychology, the Department of Professional Counseling, and the Department of Sociology. Light refreshments will be served.
