Social work graduate student Grace Springer ’19 recently received the Graduate Merit Award Program 2023 Scholarship from the Executive Women of New Jersey (EWNJ). The scholarship is awarded to non-traditional students attending New Jersey colleges and universities.
The EWNJ defines a non-traditional student as someone who is returning to their studies several years after an undergraduate degree; completing their undergraduate degree at a later date; changing their career and returning to school; or coming from a non-traditional educational or socioeconomic background.
Springer returned to Monmouth University to pursue her master’s degree in social work, after graduating from the University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She attributes her career shift to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and her value for human connection.
Currently, Springer is a clinical intern with Monmouth’s Counseling and Prevention Services, working with undergraduate students through individual therapy, and has aspirations of opening a private practice.
The EWNJ Graduate Merit Award Program seeks to establish a pipeline for future women leaders to excel and flourish in corporate spaces.
