Monmouth University’s student-run record label, Blue Hawk Records, is releasing its 25th studio compilation album, “Vol. 25: Signature Edition,” on Dec. 6. The milestone album features seven original tracks from a talented roster of current student artists, including Hana McKinney, Michael Yacullo (performing under the stage name Michael Anthony Rocks), Marley Bell, Steven DiPietro (performing under the stage name Stevie 808), Elijah Elias, and former “American Idol” contestant Emily Cassler.
Production and promotion for “Signature Edition” were led by students in the fall 2024 Record Label Strategies course. The album also includes alumnus Nick Garrecht ’24 and his band, the Ballistic Berry.
“We’re so proud of the hard work put into ‘Vol. 25: Signature Edition.’ This album represents the incredible talent within the Blue Hawk Music Group, and we’re thrilled to partner with WMCX to share this milestone with the world,” said Chelsea Lagotta, label operations manager for the semester.
“Signature Edition” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
To celebrate the release, select artists and members of the Record Label Strategies course will debut the album during Blue Hawk Records’ Holiday Release Show in Plangere Center, Room 235. In partnership with Monmouth’s student-run radio station WMCX, the show will be simulcast during the station’s WinterFest event. Both the show and the broadcast are scheduled for Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
