A female Monmouth University student contacted the Police Department to report the actions of this individual, who was walking behind her and followed her from the Shadow Lawn area, through the tunnel to Laurel Hall. The resident student then entered the building and closed the inner lobby door behind her. The male subject then attempted but was unable to enter the residential hall. He also appears to be wearing grey sweat pants, black New Balance sneakers and a blue surgical mask. He is described as being older than college age. He was last seen heading north toward Elmwood Hall. No contact or threats were made toward the caller.
In an attempt to locate the subject, Monmouth University Police officers searched the campus and surrounding area but the subject was not found. There is no immediate threat to the campus nor any indication that the subject has returned to the Residential Buildings on campus.
