Monmouth students with a penchant for theatre arts often find that MU Players offers an appealing way to get involved on campus and build meaningful connections at the University. Formerly known as Boom Roasted Productions, MU Players is Monmouth’s premier student-run theatre club. Since its inception in 2010, the group has operated with the goal of performing regular productions while honing students’ theatrical skills.

Club members direct, design, and perform an exciting season of events each year, with a fully staged musical production presented in the spring semester. Recent shows include sold-out runs of RENT, The Addams Family, and Sweeney Todd, as well as a production of Cabaret for a Cause. The group showcases the talents of its members in a variety of venues, including the on-campus Lauren K. Woods Theatre and Pollak Theatre.

MU Players has earned several awards recognizing its contributions to the University community. The club is a three-time recipient of Monmouth’s prestigious Outstanding Student Organization Award and a two-time recipient of the Event of the Year Award.

While members of MU Players frequently minor in theatre arts or major in either music or music industry, the group encourages all students with a passion for theatre to join—it has an assortment of on-stage and behind-the-scenes roles to fill.
