- I am very happy overall with my Biology major at Monmouth. I was required to take many science classes, that at the time seemed so overwhelming to me, but now I can see I was well prepared for the even harder task of medical school. Monmouth gave me a good foundation for the classes and materials I am taking now.
- The Biology Department did an excellent job of preparing me for medical school.
- Monmouth University helped prepare me for my current position. I obtained a B.S. in Biology from Monmouth University; the lab experience and the writing intensive classes helped me to land my job.
- As far as preparation for medical school, I feel that Monmouth University was excellent. The coursework, science majors, and research opportunities were great. The relatively small class size made classes more intimate, fostered learning and understanding of the material, made professors more approachable and made research opportunities easier to initiate.

- The mentoring program is great. Mr. Gordinier is a huge asset to the business school! Professors such as Dr. Scott, Prof. Buzza, and Dr. Mosca are priceless with their use of real-world experiences.
- I think the business school did a great job of preparing students for a real work environment. The classroom simulations were a great exercise, as well as all the projects where we worked in teams.
- The honors thesis program is the best real-world experience preparation. I feel every business major should be required to complete a thesis because it forces one to focus on one’s area of interest and learn from real experiences such as research, interviews, etc. Also, Professor Buzza’s Entrepreneurship class is the greatest preparation for the real world in a classroom environment. From the logistics and mechanics to the social and ideological aspects of the business world, the Entrepreneurship class was the greatest preparation for my current position.
- My classes helped me very much, especially the 400-level classes where the teachers had real world experiences.

Students and alumni of the Business: Management program have had these things to say about the major and Monmouth University:
- Monmouth prepared me for the “real world” by employing great professors and allowing them flexibility in how they teach. People such as Professor Buzza, Professor Reynolds, as well as others, helped prepare me for life outside college by bringing real-world experiences into the classroom. Programs such as the Entrepreneurship program taught by Professor Buzza allowed students to create an actual product and teach them what it takes to run a real business. It was experiences like these that made Monmouth unique.
- I felt that many of the management major courses were excellent – such as entrepreneurship, coaching, and team development – and many of the other more ‘hands on’ courses that weren’t just definitions from a book.
- Dr. Mosca’s team building class and Human Resource Management course were the most beneficial. I learned a lot about the real world in his classes and how to prepare myself to meet its demands. Also, I took a class on diversity by the American Conference on Diversity; I feel that was a tremendous learning experience that was simply invaluable.
- The Entrepreneurship Program with Prof. Buzza was the best hands-on learning in and outside of the classroom. It certainly prepared me for “the real world.”
- The best way Monmouth prepared me for the “real world” was with Professor Buzza’s entrepreneurship class. It was far and away the most relevant experience in my entire time at Monmouth.
- I think the major I chose at Monmouth definitely prepared me for my position as an accountant. I chose a well-rounded major (Management) which touched on all aspects of the business world. I never thought I would be an accountant, but I love what I do. Dr. Christofi’s investment class was excellent and taught me everything I needed to know in my current position. My finance classes, economics classes, and accounting classes also helped me within my current role at State Street.
- Within the Business Department, I feel I was very well prepared to enter a professional business setting. Although my current position is not business related, knowing the ins and outs of how business works gives me an obvious advantage over other employees.
- Professor Buzza’s Center for Entrepreneurship gave me and many other students an insight into real-world business. Even though I am currently working in the healthcare field, the class has given me a great understanding of the business world.

Students and alumni of the Business: Marketing program have had these things to say about the major and Monmouth University:
- As a Business major, we studied how to keep a business competitive regardless of the current market. I am using my knowledge from classes and skills I developed while serving as an RA at Monmouth to meet the demands of my position in an innovative and organized manner.
- My current job is outside the realm of what I went to Monmouth for, but my degree in business gives me an advantage over others in the company because I have a better understanding of how the company works and how to improve myself.
- I think my business classes prepared me to be able to look at the business world with much more understanding than I would have otherwise.
- I think Monmouth did well in preparing me for “the real world.” There are resources available, such as the Mentoring Program, if you reach out for them. Small Business Management was a great preparation class.
- Monmouth definitely helped me with my writing skills. My current job entails quite a bit of writing and I consider myself to be a great writer in part thanks to Monmouth pushing for ALL students to be able to write well.
