Teacher Leader Endorsement

We are no longer accepting applications for Fall 2024.

A program designed specifically to help teachers take positions of leadership within their districts, promote student and colleague success, and expand their overall portfolio of professional offerings, the Teacher Leader Endorsement is ideal for experienced teachers of all grade levels.

Through thoughtfully designed coursework and clinical hours, program participants will gain an understanding of teacher leader standards and experience their execution in the field.

The 6-credit graduate level program provides advanced level content on essential topics related to:

  • Teacher leadership as an opportunity for distributed, school-and district-wide leadership.
  • How teachers can utilize collaborative action research to develop their colleagues’, and their own, practices to build learning communities.
  • Adaptive and motivational approaches to school- and district-wide leadership through job-embedded professional development.

Advanced professional growth and development of educators open pathways for teachers to lead transformation in their districts. Through the Teacher Leader Endorsement, Monmouth’s School of Education is providing yet another avenue for the transformation of school districts by allowing teachers to lead from their roles as classroom educators while fulfilling all the state requirements for the NJ Teacher Leader Endorsement.

For those who looking to advance to the highest levels of the education field, the Teacher Leadership Endorsement is also an ideal segue to Monmouth’s Educational Leadership programs.
