The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program provides financial assistance and support services (counseling, tutoring, developmental coursework, etc.) to New Jersey students from educationally and economically disadvantaged background and who show academic promise. Each year, as the result of a competitive application process, a limited number of students are invited to join the Monmouth University EOF program; the application process is coordinated by the Office of Undergraduate Admission and the Monmouth EOF Program Director.
Students in the EOF program receive a grant from the State of New Jersey, valued at $3,050, and additional grant funding – beyond what a non-EOF student might receive – from the University. To be eligible for funding, students must:
- On initial enrollment demonstrate an educationally and economically disadvantaged background and must be eligible for the NJ Tuition Aid Grant (TAG)
- Be a New Jersey resident 12 consecutive months immediately prior to receiving the award
- Be a citizen, an eligible non-citizen, or eligible to file the NJ Alternative Financial Aid application
- Be full-time (12 or more credits)
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
- File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application.
- Meet the income and asset criteria
Awards are renewable each year, up to 5 years (10 semesters) as long as you complete the FAFSA by April 15 and meet all eligibility requirements.
