Federal Work-Study
This federally funded program provides on- and off-campus employment opportunities in a variety of settings to eligible students. Currently, the University provides employment for more than 500 students. Students are compensated at a competitive wage and may work between five and 20 hours per week during the academic year. Earnings for work performed are paid directly to students every two weeks and are not credited toward student charges for tuition, room, board, etc. The average Federal Work-Study award made to students is $2,000.
Eligibility and award amounts are based upon demonstrated financial need, in combination with the total amount of financial aid received by the student from all other sources. FAFSA filers will automatically be considered for this program.
On-Campus Employment
The University offers a limited number of part-time on-campus job opportunities to students who do not qualify for Federal Work-Study. Students are compensated at a competitive wage, and weekly hours vary from department to department. Earnings for work performed are paid directly to students every two weeks. The Student Employment Office is located on the third floor of the Great Hall, in room 322, and may be reached at 732-263-5706 or studemploy@monmouth.edu.
