Monmouth University will hold Winter Commencement on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. on campus in the Multipurpose Activity Center. Live video online will be available starting at 1:15 p.m.

Lewis Mumford, a dynamic writer, literary and architectural critic, moralist, historian and philosopher, criticized progress based on the intoxicating power of technology and the machine. He argued that the advancement of civilization should be cultivated by humanism, and that technology should never be used to acquire global domination, promote military prowess, or erode individualism.

National Theatre of London: Coriolanus

National Theatre Live will broadcast the Donmar Warehouse’s production of Coriolanus, Shakespeare’s searing tragedy of political manipulation and revenge, with Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers, War Horse (film), BBC’s The Hollow Crown) in the title role and Mark Gatiss (Season’s Greetings at the National Theatre, BBC’s Sherlock) as Menenius, directed by the Donmar’s Artistic Director Josie Rourke.

He has worked with numerous publishing companies and advertising agencies that range from American Tourister to Zebra Pens. Works on display will include various advertising illustrations, book covers, editorial works & promotion pieces used by noted publishers Bantam, Scholastic, & Harlequin.
