Janice Wolfe – “The Lady” Dog Whisperer of New Jersey

Janice Wolfe is an internationally known behaviorist who specializes in rehabilitating fearful dogs. She has rehabilitated more than 25,000 dogs and has written and co-authored many books on animal behavior.

Art Walk & Michael Malpass Film Screening

This event will include a tour of the art on campus including the new J. Seward Johnson pieces and the Michael Malpass Retrospective in Pollak Gallery. There will also be a screening of the new documentary about Michael Malpass titled “Michael Malpass – A Great Circle” created by Monmouth University Communication Students under the direction of Erin Fleming, Director of Production Services. The documentary will be screened in Wilson Auditorium at 4:00 PM and the tour will be afterwards at 4:45 PM. Free and open to the public but RSVP required. To RSVP please call 732.263.5715

Puccini’s enduring favorite, starring an exceptional trio of singing actors in the leading roles, features acclaimed American soprano Patricia Racette as the ultimate diva, Floria Tosca, in Luc Bondy’s production. French tenor Roberto Alagna sings Tosca’s lover, the painter Cavaradossi, and Georgian baritone George Gagnidze is the corrupt, lustful Scarpia. Italian maestro Riccardo Frizza conducts Puccini’s sweeping, dramatic tale of murder, lust, and political intrigue.

This summer, Shadow Lawn Stage, the professional theatre in residence at Monmouth University, will present Ted Swindley’s ode to her: Always, Patsy Cline.

Donizetti’s comic gem L’Elisir d’Amore, directed by Bartlett Sher and conducted by Maurizio Benini, stars Anna Netrebko in her Met role debut as the beautiful landowner Adina, with Matthew Polenzani as Nemorino, the simple peasant who falls in love with her. Mariusz Kwiecien sings Adina’s arrogant fiancé, Sergeant Belcore, and Ambrogio Maestri sings the role of the magic potion-peddling Doctor Dulcamara.

In one of the most dramatic saves in Live in HD history, soprano Kristine Opolais sang the role of Mimi with only a few hours notice in Franco Zeffirelli’s breathtaking production of La Bohème, the most-performed opera in Met history. Featuring a cast of hundreds, a glorious onstage snow scene, and a detailed reconstruction of the Latin Quarter in Paris, La Bohème also stars Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo as the passionate poet Rodolfo, Susanna Phillips as the flirtatious Musetta, and Massimo Cavalletti is the painter Marcello.
