On Screen in Person: Fly by Light

Pollak Theatre

A group of teenagers leaves the streets of Washington, DC, to participate in an ambitious antiviolence education program in rural West Virginia where they confront the entrenched abuse, violence and neglect cycles of their past. Fly By Light is an intimate exploration of the chaotic, confusing, and emotional journey that follows as they attempt to rewrite their futures. There will be a Q&A with director Ellie Walton following the screening.

Oro Macht Frei tells the story of the Roman Jewish experience of the Nazi occupation of Rome (Sept 1943 – June 1944). Weaving testimony from Roman Jews together with historical research by renowned scholars on the subject (including Susan Zuccotti, Alexander Stille, Liliana Picciotto), OMF seeks to bring the viewer into a personal and relatable reflection of the Holocaust in Italy through the eyes of this unique and historic community. There will be a panel/Q & A following screening.
