Improving Communication Regarding End-of-Life Decisions
Pozycki HallThis workshop is designed to provide health care professionals with a better understanding of the complex decision making process that is involved in the planning of end-of-life care. The instructors will explore and review end-of life care choices such as hospice, palliative care and advanced directives. The patients’ perspective will be presented, highlighting research on “The inner life at the end of life,” life reviews and attitudes toward death. Participants will engage in a simulated medical decision process and analyze different types of advanced directives. The goal will be to facilitate patient centered care and shared decision making through effective communication and planning.
Sexual Assault Examination Across the Lifespan – Workshop for Nurses

Content will include the biological, psychological, social and medico-legal dynamics of sexual assault including care of both male and female survivors across the lifespan.

The instructor will focus on basic clinical evaluation of the school age child including both normal and abnormal findings. The material covered will primarily focus on disease and disorders frequently observed in the school age child.
You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown
Lauren K. Woods TheatreShadow Lawn Stage, the professional theatre of Monmouth University, will present the 50th anniversary production of the enchanting musical, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown this June with 10 performances at the historic Woods Theatre on the university’s campus. Based on the famed comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles Schulz, the musical tells the story of some typical days in the life of Charlie Brown. From running after the school bus to spying the cute little red-haired girl at lunch, Charlie deals with the fun and frustrations of life with his friends Lucy, Linus and Schroeder; his kid sister Sally; and his faithful companion, Snoopy. The original production featured Gary Burghoff (Radar in the MASH series). The 1999 revival won 2 Tony Awards – for Roger Bart as Snoopy and Kristen Chenoweth as Sally – and the Drama Desk award for “Best Revival of a Musical”. Director Penny Woolcock explores the timeless themes of pure love, betrayal, and vengeance in a production that vividly creates an undersea world on the stage of the Met. Conductor Gianandrea Noseda brings his romantic flair to the lush score from the composer of Carmen.
