Colin Hay- Waiting For My Real Life weaves its story around intimate footage from Colin’s successful 2013 world tour. It features interviews with close family and friends as well as celebrity admirers Hugh Jackman, Mick Fleetwood, Zach Braff, Sia Furler and many others reflecting on the impact of this powerhouse singer on their lives and work – giving a glimpse into the heart of one of the most successful songwriters of the 20th century.

Frida – Viva La Vida is a cinematic documentary event film that highlights the two sides of Frida Kahlo’s spirit: a revolutionary pioneering artist of contemporary feminism, and on the other, a human being tormented by agony and love. With Asia Argento as narrator, the two faces of the artist will be revealed, by pursuing a common thread consisting of Frida’s own words: letters, diaries and private confessions. The documentary film event will alternate interviews with historical documents, captivating reconstructions and Frida Kahlo’s own paintings, kept in some of the most amazing museums in Mexico.

Join us for a zoom discussion of the 2014 film Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain, an Indian English-language historical drama film directed by Ravi Kumar. Based on the Bhopal disaster that happened in India on 2–3 December 1984, the film stars Martin Sheen, Mischa Barton, Kal Penn, Rajpal Yadav, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Fagun Thakrar. The film is available for streaming on a number of platforms including Amazon Prime, VUDU and YouTube (for rent or purchase). The virtual discussion will be led by Monmouth University Professor’s Datta Naik and Marina Vujnovic. When you register you will be provided the meeting link to join the conversation.

Join us for a World Cinema Series zoom discussion illuminating the theme “A Delicate Balance: Global Communities and the Natural World” by analyzing the message and impact the 2019 film, Honeyland. Hatidze lives with her ailing mother in the mountains of Macedonia, making a living cultivating honey using ancient beekeeping traditions. When an unruly family moves in next door, what at first seems like a balm for her solitude becomes a source of tension as they, too, want to practice beekeeping, while disregarding her advice. The most awarded film at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, Honeyland is an epic, visually stunning portrait of the delicate balance between nature and humanity that has something sweet for everyone.

A cinematic documentary event film celebrating the revolutionary pioneering artist of contemporary feminism.  Featuring interviews with Hilda Trujillo Soto, the director of the Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City and Cristina Kahlo, Frida Kahlo’s grandniece, historical documents, photographs, clothes, and other personal items belonging to Frida, kept in the archives of the Frida Kahlo Museum and normally not accessible to the public, captivating reconstructions, and Kahlo’s own paintings, on display in some of the most amazing museums in Mexico.

Set in Iceland the film is a drama, with moments of whimsical comedy, about Halla, a 50-year old environmental activist determined to halt the construction of a new aluminum smelter near Reykjavik by destroying power lines and thwarting negotiations between the government of Iceland and a corporation and community eager to see the contracts awarded. Yet, it is her personal, ethical crisis that brings this drama, based on actual events, to a stirring conclusion.
