Singer and songwriter Rosanne Cash’s exciting show celebrates her highly-acclaimed and three time Grammy winning album, The River & the Thread. The River & the Thread (2014, Blue Note Records) is a collection of original songs that connect and re-connect Rosanne to the American South, the place of her birth and the home of her ancestors. Rosanne follows her acclaimed Grammy nominated and award winning album The List (2009) with her own poetic survey of places and people of The South on these beautiful and varied songs written with her collaborator, musical director, guitarist and husband, John Leventhal.

A Marvelous Night: The Music of Van Morrison

New Jersey’s favorite entertainers will take the stage to share the music of Van Morrison with their friends. Legendary front man Rob Paparozzi (Original Blues Brothers Band, Blood Sweat ‘n Tears) and Master Song Stylist Pat Guadagno (BobFest, The Candle Brothers) will lead an all-star band on a musical journey through the lifework of one of the most influential and unusual artists of our time. Last year’s capacity crowd was mesmerized by an eclectic selection of Morrison’s mystical compositions, performed by an ensemble of Jersey musical nobility that included Pam McCoy, Steven Delopoulos (Burlap to Cashmere) Irish Tenor Steve Reilly, Michael Ghegan (Michael Jackson Cirque de Soleil), John Korba, (Hall & Oates, Phoebe Snow, Roseanne Cash) Tom Labella, Joe Bellia & Jillian Reyes McCoy (John Bon Jovi’s Kings of Suburbia). The memorable evening was highlighted by a surprise visit from ‘the worlds most recorded drummer’ Bernard “Pretty” Purdie. For the Running Down The Road Tour, Arlo will again hit the road with a full band to fully embody the best of Guthrie’s catalogue from the late sixties and early seventies. Featuring the most outstanding cuts from Arlo (1968), Running Down The Road (1969), Washington County (1970) along with others, this tour exemplifies the sound that shaped a generation. Guthrie’s latest tour promises to take the audience back to the most remarkable, far-out era.

Fueled by Marty Raybon’s distinctive vocals and the band’s skilled musicianship, Shenandoah became well known for delivering such hits as “Two Dozen Roses”, “Church on Cumberland Road” and “Next to You, Next to Me” as well as such achingly beautiful classics as “I Want to be Loved Like That” and the Grammy winning “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart” duet with Alison Krauss. Today that legacy continues as original members Raybon and Mike McGuire reunite to launch a new chapter in Shenandoah’s storied career. Shenandoah has recorded nine studio albums (3 certified gold) and placed 26 singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The boys from Muscle Shoals have left a potent legacy at country radio with over a dozen hit records.

An annual holiday tradition, the ever lovable and charismatic Father Alphonse Stevenson returns to conduct the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea for their 26th concert of carols and seasonal favorites. There’s simply no better way to start the holiday season than to spend a special evening with Father Alphonse, his 42-piece orchestra and distinguished vocalists as he provides humorous and personal anecdotes amidst a program of holiday classics and carols.

Featuring the Mimi Jones Sextet, this mini musical theater piece blends arranged music based on the Harlem Renaissance and Jazz from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s with poetry and dialogue. Bassist/vocalist/ producer/label owner and now filmmaker Mimi Jones has reigned supreme, as a side woman to an impressive coterie of musicians and as a leader with her own Hot Tone Music record label. Mimi has toured extensively throughout the world and is recognized as a U.S. Jazz Ambassador. She has played with Kenny Barron, Frank Ocean, Dianne Reeves, Tia Fuller, Ingrid Jensen, Marc Cary, Toshi Reagon, Rachel Z, Terri Lyne Carrington’s Grammy Award winning Mosaic Project and more. The BEST OF THE EAGLES (BOTE) “The Eagles Tribute Band” was established in 2012 with veteran New Jersey musicians. BOTE plays the music of The Eagles, who have sold over 150 million albums worldwide, drawn from their entire career which includes the Joe Walsh years. At the upcoming 2+ hour Pollak show, BOTE will perform the Eagles mega-hit album Hotel California in it’s entirety as well as many more Eagles hits, nuggets and fan faves. The Hotel California album sold over 32 million copies worldwide and contained such classic Eagles songs as “New Kid In Town”, “Life In The Fast Lane”, “Victim of Love”, “The Last Resort” and of course “Hotel California”.

Sweet Honey in the Rock

With a new album #LoveInEvolution released early this year, Grammy Award-winning female African-American a cappella group founded by Bernice Johnson Reagon in 1973, endlessly continues to evolve and cultivate the rich textures of African American musical traditions. Currently consisting of members Carol Maillard, Louise Robinson, Nitanju Bolade Casel, Aisha Kahlil, ASL interpreter Shirley Childress, and featured musician Romeir Mendez on upright acoustic bass and electric bass, the group possesses a stunning vocal prowess that captures the complex sounds of blues, spirituals, traditional gospel hymns, rap, reggae, African chants, hip hop, ancient lullabies, and jazz improvisation. The group’s collective voice, often accompanied by hand percussion instruments and bass, produces a sound filled with soulful harmonies and intricate rhythms.
