The BEST OF THE EAGLES (BOTE) “The Eagles Tribute Band” was established in 2012 with veteran New Jersey musicians. BOTE plays the music of The Eagles, who have sold over 150 million albums worldwide, drawn from their entire career which includes the Joe Walsh years. At the upcoming 2+ hour Pollak show, BOTE will perform the Eagles mega-hit album Hotel California in it’s entirety as well as many more Eagles hits, nuggets and fan faves. The Hotel California album sold over 32 million copies worldwide and contained such classic Eagles songs as “New Kid In Town”, “Life In The Fast Lane”, “Victim of Love”, “The Last Resort” and of course “Hotel California”.

Sweet Honey in the Rock

With a new album #LoveInEvolution released early this year, Grammy Award-winning female African-American a cappella group founded by Bernice Johnson Reagon in 1973, endlessly continues to evolve and cultivate the rich textures of African American musical traditions. Currently consisting of members Carol Maillard, Louise Robinson, Nitanju Bolade Casel, Aisha Kahlil, ASL interpreter Shirley Childress, and featured musician Romeir Mendez on upright acoustic bass and electric bass, the group possesses a stunning vocal prowess that captures the complex sounds of blues, spirituals, traditional gospel hymns, rap, reggae, African chants, hip hop, ancient lullabies, and jazz improvisation. The group’s collective voice, often accompanied by hand percussion instruments and bass, produces a sound filled with soulful harmonies and intricate rhythms.

Caladh Nua

Caladh Nua is a tightly-knit, vibrant and staggeringly talented band with its origins deeply rooted in the Southern counties of Ireland. Comprised of five versatile musicians and singers playing a wide selection of instruments – from banjo to fiddle, guitar to bodhran and tin whistle to button accordion – the band has captured the essential qualities of traditional Irish music and balanced them finely with an innovative contemporary flair.

Through a series of international tours and festivals across the globe, which saw the band take the stage in cities such as Paris, Vienna, Copenhagen, Berlin, Mumbai and Vancouver, Caladh Nua has cast a uniquely captivating net of Irish music and song over an ever widening worldwide audience.

A long list of TV and radio broadcasts of their performances and two acclaimed recordings includes American Public Radio, the BBC, and RTE. Performing a vast repertoire of haunting songs and evocative Irish tunes, Caladh Nua is a young ensemble on the rise.

Founded in 2013, Sea Sharp A Cappella became Monmouth University’s first and only a cappella group. Creating sound with only their voices, the Monmouth University Sea Sharps have brought the a cappella scene to campus sharing their versions of popular tunes and classic ballads. Over the short period of time, they have participated in the ICCA’s, been featured on MTV, and hosted many concerts including Acafest which features collegiate a cappella groups from all over the tri-state area such as 8 to the Bar from Drexel University, The Trentones from The College of New Jersey, the NJIT Gigabeats, and many more! Rockin’ Road to Dublin

Inspired by epic spectacles like Riverdance, RRTD’s renowned team of tour professionals is reviving the classic art form to create a new Irish show with a contemporary feel and a broader appeal. Choreographer and lead male Scott Doherty (Riverdance & Lord of the Dance) has teamed up with veteran Celtic rocker Chris Smith to produce an exciting fusion of music, movement and culture that has never been done before. RRTD is a breathtaking display of classic Irish tunes accented by rock ‘n’ roll riffs, electrifying dancers and a dynamic light show. Enjoy the thrilling sights and sounds as daring performers execute rapid-fire leaps, twirls and footwork, and nimble fiddlers square off with driving electric guitar chords and pulse-pounding drum beats. Fans say, “Rockin’ Road to Dublin not only combines Riverdance and Lord of the Dance perfectly, but actually surpasses them!”There will be an open rehearsal and talk back at 4PM.

BRAVO AMICI – FUNDRAISER FOR AUTISM SPEAKS

Presented in partnership with Autism Speaks NJ this special concert presentation held on World Autism Awareness Day will feature Geoff Sewell, founder of the classical crossover opera band Amici Forever and his cast of exceptionally talented Broadway performers singing favorite pieces from well-known musicals, operas and popular music. From classic opera favorites like La Traviata’s Brindisi to Phantom’s All I Ask of You and crowd pleasers like That’s Amore, audiences will delight in the uplifting performance by the gifted vocalists of Bravo Amici. The concert will also feature a special video presentation of Sewell’s song Heal Me co-written by his wife Simone and featuring daughters Olivia and Sienna (who has autism) highlighting the message that autism is treatable. This event will be held in conjunction with the Art+Autism gallery exhibition opening reception featuring juried work by artists with Autism. Proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks NJ.

For A Cause

Join the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta for Karaoke for a Cause, a talent competition where individuals will sing karaoke songs or original songs of their own to raise funds in support of Autism Speaks. Alpha Xi Delta formed a philanthropic partnership with Autism Speaks in 2009, and since has has proudly raised more than $5,000,000 collectively through their national college chapters and alumnae associations for the cause.
