Hispanic Heritage Month

Online

Each year, Monmouth University observes National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Join the Hispanic Heritage Month Planning Committee for our month-long virtual event series including critical dialogues, performances, scholarship, and speakers including legendary labor rights organizer and feminist activist Dolores Huerta (president and founder of the Dolores Huerta Foundation).

Salsa Magic – Dance History, Lessons, and Competition

Why go to the club when Salsa Magic can bring it to your dorm or living room? Using our Pro Zoom Web Video service, Lee “El Gringuito” Smith and Kat La Gata, professional Latin dancers and founders of Salsa Magic who have taught over 250,000 College students and traveled to over 800+ cities, will create a fun, interactive, educational experience. The virtual show will start with interactive lessons in Merengue, Bachata & Salsa! Students will have a chance to show off their moves for virtual gift cards. Lee & Kat will perform live and students can practice to a live DJ set by DJ Gringuito.
