Jennifer Sansevero was appointed as Monmouth University’s eighth director of athletics on Feb. 27, 2024, a role she transitioned into after joining the department in Sept. 2021. Sansevero’s responsibilities include leadership of a department with 600 student-athletes, 24 Varsity programs, 18 head coaches and 100-plus staff members, financial oversight of the athletic department, and representing the institution within the Coastal Athletic Association.

Sansevero’s leadership has been marked by several notable accomplishments, including the launch of the Fly Hawks Alliance (a Name, Image, and Likeness collective supporting Monmouth student-athletes), 2023 regular season championships in field hockey and men’s soccer, and facility improvements such as new FieldTurf installations and branding enhancements. Her efforts have also increased Monmouth University’s media visibility, with numerous games broadcast on major TV networks.

Before becoming acting director of athletics in July 2023, she served as the senior associate athletics director for Student Development and senior women’s administrator. Her leadership has made a significant impact on Monmouth University’s Department of Athletics, including creating a learning specialist position that helped achieve the department’s highest-ever grade-point average and national recognition from the NCAA for Academic Progress Rate scores. Sansevero, a student-athlete herself, earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Mount St. Mary’s College and a Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law.
