Professor Hilberg has many years of experience teaching physical education, health and recreation to people of all ages and abilities. Prior to teaching at Monmouth, Karen served as the Associate Director of Recreational Services, as well as, an Adjunct Professor in Kinesiology at William Paterson University, retiring in 2019. She is a former Adaptive Physical Education specialist who is passionate about teaching ALL students to enjoy physical activity. She is an advocate for accessibility and inclusion.
When Karen is not teaching, she stays active by swimming, walking and practicing yoga. She also enjoys baking, and spending time with her husband hiking, kayaking, sailing and exploring local, state and National Parks.
