About the Program
Pursue your interest in writing and literature with Monmouth’s B.A. in English program. You will receive a comprehensive liberal arts education while completing reading, writing, and research assignments and exploring various works of literature. You will develop transferable writing and analytical skills that are crucial for success in a variety of exciting fields.

Apply your skills in text comprehension and analysis by interning at publishing companies such as Penguin, Random House, and St. Martin’s Press, or at organizations such as the National Geographic Society, the Strand Theater, and the Monmouth County SPCA. Take advantage of opportunities to speak to and learn from accomplished writers while attending the Visiting Writers Series. Gain experience in publishing by working on the University’s literary and arts journal, The Monmouth Review, or explore playwriting with the NJ Repertory Company Series.
