Servers

In addition to the computer labs, students and faculty with MU UNIX accounts have access to department Linux servers housed in the University data center which are accessible from off campus.

The “rockhopper” Oracle Linux server is used primarily for the following:

  • Apache web server
  • Oracle XE DBMS
  • MySQL DBMS

The “plato” Ubuntu Linux server is used primarily for the following:

  • Apache web server
  • MySQL DBMS

The “cssegit” Debian Linux server is used primarily for the following:

The “wlb-csnode-02” Ubuntu Linux server is a Linux cluster controller node and is used primarily for the following:

  • Remote Linux console and desktop logins
  • Hadoop/Spark
