Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society

Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a national honor society that recognizes outstanding academic achievement and scholarship in the biological sciences. The three objectives of the society are: to promote scholarship in the biological sciences, to promote the dissemination of biological knowledge, and to encourage research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 200,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 626 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Monmouth University’s Chi Eta chapter was founded in 1976. An annual induction of new members is held each spring semester. Students must be pursuing a major in the biology department, have completed a minimum of 3 college-level biology courses, and achieve a GPA in biology courses of 3.2 or higher. First year students who have not completed the minimum number of courses may be accepted as Associate Members.
