We recognize that parents provide a great deal of support and encouragement for their students while attending Monmouth University. The office of Tutoring and Writing Services provides support for students to help achieve academic success. From peer tutoring to writing assistance, as well as peer assisted learning for advanced classes, Tutoring and Writing Services has more than 100 individuals who provide a wide variety of services and resources free of charge.
- Tutoring Services provides your student with one-on-one assistance in many programs of study at Monmouth. With more than 25 peer tutors – trained in anything from history to mathematics, chemistry to psychology, and more – students can schedule an appointment with a knowledgeable tutor at a time that works for them.
- Writing Services will help your student go from brainstorming to working on final revisions – and every step in between – with specially-trained peer, faculty, and professional writing assistants. Whether your student is a strong writer or needs a little help from time-to-time, our more than 20 writing assistants are ready to help on a 1-on-1 basis.
- Peer Assisted Learning (formerly Supplemental Instruction) helps your student be successful in traditionally challenging courses. A fellow student who did well in the course will attend all lectures and take notes, hold group study sessions to discuss readings and homework, and be there to answer any questions.
