Monmouth University provides housing accommodations for college students who will be conducting internships in Monmouth or Ocean counties during the summer months. You do not need to be a registered MU student to apply for summer intern housing. If you are currently enrolled at Monmouth University and taking a summer class, please contact the Office of Residential Life for summer housing options. Please be advised there is a six-week minimum stay for our intern housing program.
Application Process
To request consideration for housing, please complete our Summer Intern Housing Form
Prior to submitting the form, please obtain a letter from your internship employer confirming the internship position. The letter must be from your employer and include dates of your internship program. We will be able to determine if we can accommodate your housing request in late April. We will confirm housing with you via email so please provide an email address that is monitored frequently. Rental rates and housing availability dates are listed on the intern housing form.
Leasing Policies
All tenants will be required to sign a housing lease with Monmouth University prior to their move-in date. Your signed lease materials, rental payment and a $500 security deposit are all due prior to your arrival – your lease will outline these dates. The security deposit is fully refundable after your lease term less any damages or charges outlined in the lease. All tenants are also required to accept and sign our Tenant Rules and Regulations.
Accommodations
Currently, summer 2025 intern housing accommodations will be provided in our Great Lawn Apartment complex. This facility has an apartment-style setting with two bedrooms and a shared kitchen, bathroom, common area and laundry facilities.
Rental rates and availability dates will be published in February 2025 on the Intern Housing Application form. We are not able to offer housing outside of the availability dates so please be sure to select dates that are within that timeframe.
