Denis J. Gallagher, Class of 1976

 

Denis J. Gallagher ’76 is an entrepreneur and the founder, former chairman, and CEO of Student Transportation, Inc (STI). He started STI in 1997 and built the company to the third largest passenger transportation company in North America. He is also the founder and chairman of various entertainment companies that produced acclaimed television shows Front and Center and Speakeasy seen on public television stations across the U.S. Gallagher heads two film production companies in Charleston, South Carolina and Los Angeles, California.

Gallagher attended Monmouth on a Trustee Scholarship where he was a member of the men’s basketball team. After graduation he became an assistant coach for then Coach Bill Boylan and Ron Kornegay. He was a past member of the Board of Visitors, and in 1987, he was the youngest member ever elected to the Board of Trustees. In 1992, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award, and he has recently rejoined the Board of Trustees.
