Business Administration
Business Administration (MBA)
By earning both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Business Administration, you will be prepared to work in executive management positions at a wide array of private and public companies and institutions, non-profit organizations, or in government departments.
Start with a B.S. in Business Administration
Gain a strong understanding of business fundamentals, management principles, and the interpersonal skills needed to thrive in the business world. Hone in on your specific area of interest as you work toward earning a degree that can open up employment opportunities in a wide variety of careers. Available concentrations include accounting, economics, economics and finance, finance, finance and real estate, international business, leadership and organizational development, marketing, marketing and management, operations, supply chain, and data management, real estate, and small business management and entrepreneurship.
Finish with an MBA
Whether you are looking to advance your career, increase your earning potential, start your own business, or build your network, earning your MBA will prepare you to take on all of these challenges, and more. Designed to allow you to hand pick the tools you need to reach your specific career goals, the Monmouth MBA provides “pathways” to students who want to personalize their degree. Choose from one of four concentrations – Finance, Accounting, Management, or Marketing – that provide a specialization to the degree; or customize the degree by completing the elective credits that provide the skills and knowledge specific to your unique career path.
Optional Graduate Courses for Senior Year
Six credits of MBA coursework. The two specific courses are determined by which MBA concentration the student chooses.
Estimated Time to Complete Graduate Degree
The time to completion varies depending upon when a student begins the program and how many credits are taken each semester. Based on full-time study (nine credits) in the fall and spring semesters only, the program length is three years.
However, for students taking two graduate courses during senior year, and if all prerequisites are completed with a grade of 'B' or better, the program may be completed in one year, full-time, including summer courses.
Pre-Requisites
Students must attain a grade of 'B' or better in all 24 credits of undergraduate foundation coursework taken for MBA waiver purposes. Students are required to complete all courses within the Foundations in Business Administration minor, which include: BE-201, BE-202, BA-251, BF-301, BM-250, BK-250, BE-251, and BM-350. MA-151 or CJ-211 may also be considered as a Statistics waiver.
Students pursuing the MBA Finance concentration are also required to complete pre-requisites MA-117 and MA-118 with a C or better. An Accounting major or minor is recommended for students pursuing the MBA Accounting concentration, as BA-311, BA-312, BA-401 and either BA-370 and BA-413 or BA-316 and BA-417 with a C or better are required for admission consideration.
