Professional Stress Reduction: Practical Strategies to Avoid Burnout
Are you fearful of becoming burnt out in the field you are in? Do you often find yourself feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or on edge? These symptoms do not occur overnight. They are frequently built up due to stress, over-commitment, and self-neglect. In this workshop, hear from alumna and licensed psychotherapist, Alaysha Prestia ’17 as she teaches you about evidence-based strategies to manage stress, set boundaries, and prevent burnout using cognitive behavioral and motivational interviewing techniques.
Through discussions, self-reflection exercises, and guided activities, you’ll learn how to:
- Identify early warning signs of burnout and chronic stress
- Challenge unhelpful thought patterns that fuel anxiety
- Set boundaries and say “No” without guilt
- Implement simple self-care practices
By the end of this session, you’ll walk away with an actionable stress management plan and the confidence to make small but powerful changes in your daily life.
