FOCUS 2 CAREER is an Internet-based career and education planning system designed to provide you with personalized career and education exploration and planning services. The system is easy to use and offers valid and reliable research-based career planning designed for users to:
- Self Assess: Users develop an accurate picture of their interests, work values, personality, skills, educational and leisure time preferences.
- Broaden their career horizons by discovering how their personal attributes relate to occupations and education study areas and training.
- Narrow down their options by exploring and analyzing occupations and education areas of study.
- Map out realistic goals and plans and identify their personal training and development needs.
The Main Menu is the hub of all the services offered to you. You can use any module and service in any sequence that meets your personal needs. If you are a new user, it is best to begin with the Self-Exploration Assessments.
FOCUS 2 CAREER contains the most comprehensive occupational and educational information database available and has been fully certified in meeting the highest level of standards established by the Association for Computer-Based Systems for Career Information (ACSCI). The system also conforms to the standards and criteria established by the National Career Development Association and the U.S Department of Labor.

Workshops
Each semester the First Year Advising Office and the Center for Student Success (CSS) offer workshops focusing on the areas of academic, personal, and career. Some workshops that may be helpful when choosing a major or starting a job search are: Choosing a Major, Academic Requirements; Resume Writing; Post Your Resume/Find a Job; and Winning Interviews. Check the Workshop schedule available at the First Year Advising Office, CSS, or on Hawk TV for dates and offerings.
