The studio-based BA degrees are
designed for students who want a strong and expansive studio
experience in the visual arts. The BA in Art with a concentration in
Photography is a focused course of study in the aesthetic and
technical aspects of fine and applied photographic practice,
including an array of digital and film-based skills. BA in Art
candidates complete traditional courses in painting, drawing,
printmaking, ceramics, and sculpture. The BA in Art student also has
the option for advanced focus in a specific area of interest by
completing up to 12 credits of independent study.
For students training to become
teachers, there is the BA in Art and Education with Endorsement in
Elementary Education or with Endorsement in K-12 Education in Art.
Students who follow this course of study complete a range of
traditional studio art courses while also completing their School of
Education course requirements.
