    Way to Wellness, Monmouth University’s employee wellness program is committed to a campus culture that promotes wellness through healthy lifestyles that enhance the quality of life for our employees. Way to Wellness offers a variety of programming and services, such as health assessments and education, fitness activities, smoking cessation workshops, weight management options and more to help employees reach their health goals.

    Health Center

    Beginning on January 1, 2016, the University Health Center is available for common, non-urgent illness or injury to all employees, regardless of their enrollment status in the University health plans. Spouses/domestic partners who are enrolled in our medical plan may also access the Health Center for common, non-urgent illness or injury. Your primary care physician will continue to be used for chronic disease management. However, in the event of a serious illness or injury please call the Monmouth University Police department at 732-571-4444.

    The Health Center also assists in the assessment of work-related injuries. If you experience an injury in the course of your work responsibilities, please report to the Health Center for evaluation and referral is necessary.

    The Health Center is located on University Road on the north campus, adjacent to Birch Hall and the Monmouth University Library.

    Clinic Hours, Fall and Spring Semesters

    Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

    Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

    Annual Vaccination Clinic:  October 1, 2015 and November 3, 2015 in Anacon Hall

    Flu Vaccinations will available to employees and their spouse or children 18 years of age or older from 1pm to 7pm on the dates above. No appointment is necessary.

    ESI Medical, LLC will provide Monmouth employees and their families (spouse, domestic/civil union partner and children age 18 years and older) with the opportunity to receive the seasonal flu vaccine. ESI is an in-network provider in our Horizon BCBSNJ Direct Access plan so the charge will be billed directly to the insurance company. Please remember that the seasonal flu vaccinations are formulated to protect you from the seasonal flu. You will need to bring your Monmouth University employee ID card and your Horizon insurance card if applicable.

    ESI can also provide the following vaccines: TDAP (Tetanus/Pertussis), Meningitis (Menactra) and Pneumonia (Pneumovax). The Pneumovax vaccine prevents pneumococcal pneumonia. It is given every 5 years and is recommended as a routine vaccination for persons age 65 and older. These charges will also be billed directly to the insurance company. The Shingles vaccination is also available for those employees 50 years of age and older. An appointment is not necessary, however, if you are interested in receiving either the Shingles or Meningitis vaccines please call ESI directly at 732-292-0101.

    If you participate in the University's medical program, Horizon BCBSNJ Direct Access, you may call your Primary Care Physician (PCP) and receive the seasonal flu shot free of charge at their office if available. The Vaccination Clinic Program at Monmouth is a voluntary program that is offered as a convenience to employees. The role of Monmouth University is limited to allowing its premises to be utilized for the purposes of the Program. You will be required to sign a waiver relinquishing Monmouth University of any liability.

    Weight Watcher at Work - Wednesdays at 1 p.m. - Student Center

    Open House for all new and returning members will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 1pm in the Student Center Room 202A. This group has been so successful, having lost more than 1,600 pounds collectively since its inception in May 2010. A great group to join to share tools and strategies with fellow employees facing the same challenges as you on their weight loss journey. Private weigh -ins each week is a sure-fire way to stay accountable to your weight loss goals. Learn about the PointsPlus® system - a simple way to know what to eat and how much. Membership can be paid through payroll deduction - call Kathy Stein in the Office of Human Resources for additional information.

    University Fitness Center

    Membership at the Fitness Center is a free benefit to all employees and their spouse/domestic partner. Employees can obtain a registration form in the Office of Human Resources. The Office of Human Resources works in conjunction with the Fitness Center and Department of Athletics to offer quality fitness and wellness programs to the campus community. Fitness Center Demos are available as well as Personal Training. Watch for e-mails offering a variety of motivational programs to improve your health and well-being.
