The concept behind Party Smart is rooted in common sense. Party Smart originated at an SGA meeting during the Fall 2007 semester. Since then, SGA, the Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services, and the Office of Substance Awareness have joined together to help make Party Smart a part of the support that is provided to students at Monmouth University who live off-campus. Party Smart is based on the premise that you can socialize with friends/roommates in an off-campus setting, while not opening yourself up to costly municipal fines or sanctions as part of the Monmouth University Student Code of Conduct.
