• Military Bridge Program

For military personnel (retired or active) who would like to attend Monmouth University, but who may not meet the University's traditional admission requirements, the University is offering an opportunity to become a Monmouth student—as well as offering partial tuition assistance.

The Military Bridge Program is a transitional semester for undergraduate students who enroll at Monmouth for one semester as provisional, non-matriculating students.

For students who are eligible for veterans' benefits (e.g., Montgomery GI Bill, Post-9/11 GI Bill, Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program), these benefits may be applied to the Military Bridge Program. For students who are not eligible for any veterans' benefits, the Military Bridge Program grants tuition assistance in the amount of $100 per credit to help offset tuition during the provisional semester.

Students in the bridge program will be required to take a minimum of six credits from a selection of courses from the University's general education curriculum. These include courses in English, history, natural sciences, and social sciences.

Students must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 in order to matriculate into a degree-granting program.

The bridge program is our way of thanking all veterans who served and were given an honorable discharge. Under this program, you are able to bypass normal admission requirements (such as SATs), and you are granted one initial semester. After achieving the required grade point average, you will reapply and be accepted as a degree-seeking student. You may use your GI Bill, but unfortunately military bridge students are not eligible for federal financial aid while they are in provisional student status (first semester), so please plan accordingly.

Things you will need to bring us:

    1. A copy of your DD Form 214 (showing honorable discharge).
    2. Your Certificate of Eligibility from the Veteran’s Administration (for GI Bill benefits). You can apply for your COE here:

    3. Your military SMART, AARTS, or CCAF transcript.
