Paul Dement was appointed Director of Community and Government Relations at Monmouth University in 2005 and he oversees government affairs and community outreach in an effort to enhance and expand awareness of the University.
Prior to joining Monmouth University, Mr. Dement served as District Director to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, managing the Congressman’s three New Jersey District offices as well as acting as his chief New Jersey representative. He also worked in the Congressman’s Washington, DC office as a Legislative Aide, responsible for issues related to the environment, transportation, veteran affairs, agriculture, and fisheries.
Mr. Dement is a member the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council (MODC) Board of Directors, 180 Turning Lives Around Men’s Task Force, the Long Branch Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the United Way of Monmouth County’s Public Policy Committee. He also serves on the board of the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce (EMACC) Educational Foundation and is a past-president and current member of the Rotary Club of Long Branch.
He received a bachelor’s of arts degree in Political Science from Penn State University in 1991.
